Rum Punch is probably my favorite cocktail of the summer. The Caribbean Islands are known for their rum, and there are so many amazing kinds to choose from! Dark rum, white rum, spiced rum, coconut rum, mango rum, need I go on? There is nothing more I love than sipping on a fruity, boozy cocktail while soaking up the sun and lazing away the day.
Sure, Labor Day has come and gone, and the kids are back in school. But summer isn’t quite done yet! September 21 marks the official first day of fall, which means we still have a few more days of precious summer to savor. So it’s only fitting that the last day before fall is Rum Punch Day.
I have a delicious, and super simple recipe that will have you wishing it was the beginning of summer all over again – all you need are 5 cheap ingredients!
Although, this isn’t your typical Rum Punch. This is a wino’s Rum Punch! You can make this with any sweet white wine, but I’d suggest Barefoot Moscato – which you can buy on Amazon here! You can also get really creative depending on the flavors you enjoy:
- dark rum & mango juice
- white rum & pineapple juice
- watermelon rum & orange juice
My recipe was inspired by a piña colada, and it tasted just like I was sitting on a tropical beach – even though I was stuck at home in rainy weather doing housework. Just close your eyes, sip, and let yourself savor the last bits of summer before they disappear!
Piña Colada Rum Punch
Savor summer with this simple piña colada inspired rum punch infused with wine!
- 1 Lime
- 1 Orange
- 1/3 cup Coconut Rum (+2 shots) (I used Malibu)
- 2/3 cup Coconut-Pineapple Nectar (I used Jumex)
- 1/2 bottle Moscato (I used Barefoot)
In a cocktail shaker with ice, juice lime and orange.
Add 1/3 cup rum and 2/3 cup nectar.
Shake vigorously and pour into Mason jars filled with ice. Jars should be half full of liquid.
Top each jar with Moscato. If desired, pour an additional shot of rum on top of each punch for an extra kick.
Garnish with lime and orange, and serve!
Share your rum punch variations in the comments, and feel free to reminisce about summer, too. Cheers!
